Our new era keeps stacking high-IQ ballplayers and this one anchors the infield.
The Chatham-Kent Barnstormers are excited to announce that Trent Sillett is returning for the 2026 season! Hailing from London, ON and at just 22 years of age, Trent has demonstrated high-IQ baseball in his first two seasons and has been a stalwart defender at First Base. He also possesses the ability to find First Base with the bat.
Heading into his third season with the Barnstormers, Trent has built a reputation as one of the club’s most reliable gloves and a player who quietly gets on base and grinds out at-bats.
Here are his career numbers so far:
• 29 hits
• 22 walks
• 10 hit-by-pitches (yes, he’ll wear one for the team )
• .314 career OBP
But here’s where it gets fun:
Much like the NHL team of the same name… Trent knows how to hand losses to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
In 6 career starts vs Toronto:
Barnstormers are 5–1
.367 OBP
.348 SLG
.715 OPS
4 runs | 6 RBIs | 3 doubles
When the Leafs are in town… Trent shows up.
Steady glove.
Tough at-bats.
Winning baseball.
Welcome back to the Barn, Trent!
