The Chatham-Kent Barnstormers are pleased to announce the return of right-handed pitcher Aden Ryan for the 2026 season.
A name already etched into franchise history, Ryan will always be remembered for recording the first strikeout in Barnstormers history and he hasn’t looked back since.
The 24-year-old from Tecumseh, Ontario has continued to build on that early impact. After earning South All-Star honours in 2024, Ryan took on an even bigger role in 2025, finishing third on the team in innings pitched (52.2) and proving he can handle the workload when called upon.
Across his career in Chatham-Kent, Ryan has quietly put together a strong résumé, racking up 72 strikeouts - second-most in franchise history - along with four wins and a 4.75 ERA. Whether getting the start or coming out of the bullpen, his versatility continues to be a major asset for the club.
One of his biggest moments came in the must-win playoff battle against the Hamilton Cardinals, where Ryan delivered 4.2 strong innings to keep the Barnstormers within reach and set the stage for one of the most memorable wins in team history.
Welcome back to the Barnstormers, Aden!
