The Chatham-Kent Barnstormers Front Office and Coaching Staff has be working overtime this week, adding another weapon to their arsenal. With the signing deadline quickly approaching, the Barnstormers are happy to welcome Victor Plaz-Salazar to the team.

 

Plaz-Salazar (26, Montreal, QC) comes to us from La Ligue de Baseball Majeur du Quebec, where with the Acton Vale Castors, he was 12-23, 1 homer, 6 RBIs and a staggering 1.374 OPS

 

He is also no stranger to the IBL, playing for Barrie in 2023 and London in 2024. In 75 IBL games and 251 at-bats, Plaz-Salazar hit .283 and had an OPS of .746, crushing 6 homers, 39 RBIs and also swiped 7 bags. He was a 2024 IBL All-Star.

 

The 6'2, 215lb corner infielder played at Central Methodist University of the NAIA (2022) and also with Upper Iowa University of the Northern Sun Conference of the NCAA (2023). With the Upper Iowa University Peacocks, Plaz-Salazar hit .271, with an OPS of .918, hitting 5 home runs, 16 RBIs in only 103 plate appearances.

 

The Chatham-Kent Barnstormers lineup just got longer as they prepare for their final 10 regular season games and also what hopes to be a long playoff season.
