Here's a roster move... The Chatham-Kent Barnstormers have acquired right-handed pitcher Dakota Parsons from the Kitchener Panthers in exchange for cash considerations.
Meet Dakota Parsons from Pickering, ON.
In two seasons with the Kitchener Panthers, Parsons struck out 54 batters in 46.1 innings, posting a 1.55 WHIP while holding opponents to just a .220 batting average.
He brings a fastball in the 90s, a sharp sweeper, and a deceptive kick change - a three-pitch mix that keeps hitters guessing.
The 6’2”, 220-pound right-hander also spent this winter pitching for the Waitakere Bears Baseball Club in New Zealand, where he’s been dominant. As of February 3, Parsons has thrown 26 innings with a 2.42 ERA and an eye-popping 53 strikeouts - more than two per inning.
At 29 years old, Parsons adds experience, power and stability to a young Barnstormers pitching staff.
Welcome to Chatham-Kent, Dakota. Let’s get to work.
