The Chatham-Kent Barnstormers are pleased to announce the signing of right-handed hitter Julien Monks.
Hailing from Pacé, France, the 24-year-old infielder arrives in Chatham-Kent with a strong international résumé and a proven bat. Monks is currently playing for the Carina Red Sox in Australia’s Queensland State League, continuing a journey that has taken him across multiple continents and competitive leagues.
Before heading overseas, Monks spent three seasons with the Franklin Pierce Ravens of NCAA Division II’s Northeast-10 Conference. In 2025, the third baseman enjoyed a standout campaign, hitting .348 with 33 runs scored and 32 RBIs while adding four home runs and four stolen bases. His .911 OPS helped power Franklin Pierce to a dominant 20-5 conference record and a berth in the NCAA East Super Regionals.
Monks also made his mark in France’s Division 1 league with the Montpellier Barracudas, where he finished third on the team in hitting with a .342 batting average and a .474 slugging percentage.
Internationally, the 6’0”, 185-pound infielder has represented France’s National Team at multiple levels, including helping the U-23 squad capture a bronze medal at the European Championships.
A polished hitter, versatile defender, and experienced international competitor, Monks now brings his bat to Fergie Jenkins Field.
