RHP Dwayne Matos joins the Barnstormers

The Chatham-Kent Barnstormers are ecstatic to announce the signing of 25-year-old right-handed pitcher Dwayne Matos.

Hailing from Cabral, Dominican Republic, Matos brings extensive professional experience to Chatham-Kent after spending five seasons in the San Diego Padres organization from 2019 to 2024.

He opened the 2025 season with the Schaumburg Boomers of the Frontier League and quickly impressed, earning a contract purchase by the Cleveland Guardians before finishing the year with their High-A affiliate. The 6’1”, 190-pound right-hander began the 2026 campaign with the Ottawa Titans and now brings his arm to Fergie Jenkins Field.

Across 152 appearances in affiliated and independent baseball, Matos has logged 399 innings, recorded 17 wins and 9 saves and struck out 294 batters.
