Evan Morrison wins the Intercounty Baseball League's Batting Crown
Congratulations to Chatham-Kent Barnstormers Second Baseman Evan Morrison on winning the Intercounty Baseball League's Batting Crown. In his rookie season, Morrison finished with a .422 Batting Average, finishing 26 points ahead of the second place finisher and was the only qualified hitter to reach the .400 plateau.
Morrison's .422 mark was the highest in the IBL since 2021, and also contributed top 5 finishes in hits (65), total bases (88), OBP (.452), SLG (.571) and OPS (1.024)
Evan Morrison was a catalyst at the top of the Barnstormers lineup all season, reaching base safely in 32 of his 35 games and was named Barnstormers Player of the Game on two occasions (June 7, 5 for 5, 2 R, HR, 3 RBI and August 2, 3 for 5, R, HR, 2 RBI)
These accolades, along with helping Chatham-Kent set a Franchise Record in Wins (22), will also make Morrison a leading candidate for the Brian Kerr Memorial Trophy, given to the player selected as the most proficient in his first year of competition in the IBL.
CONGRATULATIONS EVAN
