1st Base Coach Steve Charles returns to the Barnstormers

Assistant Coach and 1st Base Coach Steve Charles returns to the Barnstormers coaching staff for the 2026 season!

A London, Ontario native and longtime IBL (now CBL) player, Charles brings professional pedigree and proven leadership back to the Barnstormers dugout. After his playing career included time in the Toronto Blue Jays organization during the 1990s, Charles transitioned into coaching, ultimately serving on the Blue Jays’ Major League staff.

Widely respected as a hitting specialist and player-coach, Charles is known for his meticulous approach to offensive development. His philosophy centers on disciplined at-bats, situational awareness and the mental preparation required to succeed at the highest level.

In an era where preparation separates contenders from competitors, Charles continues to provide the structure, experience and championship-level insight that elevates hitters from talented to complete.
